About Me: A Local Dad’s Perspective on Kyushu

Hi, I’m Kago-papa, a 35-year-old dad living in the beautiful Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. After working in the elderly care industry for over 10 years as a facility manager, I transitioned into a career as a BPR (Business Process Reengineering) Section Chief, focusing on Digital Transformation (DX).

In September 2025, my life changed forever with the birth of my daughter. As a new father, I quickly realized that while Kyushu is full of “Hidden Gems,” finding reliable, family-friendly travel information in English can be a challenge.

Why I started this blog: By combining my professional background in process optimization (making things efficient!) with my passion for exploring my home region, I want to help international families enjoy a seamless, stress-free, and authentic Kyushu experience.

Whether you are looking for a quiet Onsen that welcomes babies or a historic train station that feels like a movie set, I’m here to share the “real” Kyushu that only a local dad knows.
